The proposed project is the establishment of Defensible Fuel Zones Profiles and fuelbreaks designed to reduce excessive fuel buildup at the wildland-urban interface in the Ahwahnee-Oakhurst Basin between private lands and U.S. Forest Service-Sierra National Forest. It consists of treating 12.1 miles in old growth mature decadent Oak-Chaparral-Grass vegetation types, up to 300' wide creating a shaded Fuelbreak on a total of up to 440 acres.
