American Rivers, a national-level advocacy group, is requesting $45,000 in Sierra Nevada Conservancy Proposition 84 funding to assist with planning, capacity building through training and technical assistance to Sierra organizations, and development of public outreach strategy and workshops to inform, education and encourage the acquisition of water rights from the private domain and converting it to "trust water" for perpetual beneficial uses, including increasing water quality and improving aquatic and riparian habitat and ecological function.
