Document Description
The Nevada County Fire Plan is a countywide document with the primary purpose of reducing the impacts of wildland fires to life, property, and natural resources in the county. In order to accomplish this purpose, the Fire Plan proposes adoption of existing Public Resources Code 4291 standards as a county ordinance, recommendations for fire safety and prevention in the Project Area, and voluntary guidelines for management of natural vegetation. Environmental protection measures are identified to help reduce the physical impacts of implementing the Fire Plan. An evacuation guide is also included in the Fire Plan. The Fire Plan applies to private property within unincorporated areas of the county.
