Document Description
Construction of the project would involve creating seasonally inundated floodplain habitat for salmonids and delta smelt listed under the Federal Endangered Species Act by excavating and lowering the existing American River Right Bank (RM 0.5) in the American River Parkway, shaping terraced benches, and incorporating in-stream woody material at the summer-fall water-surface elevations. In addition, a native plant restoration program would be implemented in the newly created habitat to improve the habitat and scenic value of the area. The project would occur in two phases with transplanting in winter of 2008 and construction in summer and fall of 2008.
