Document Description
The Cross Connection Controls project (Project) is part of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission's (SFPUC) Water System Improvement Program (WSIP). The SFPUC developed this project to address California Department of Health Services concerns regarding potential cross connection contamination along the water system's appurtenances. Cross connections may occur where air valves and blow-off valves, while being opened or closed, allow water from outside of the system (rainfall, flood water, etc.) to enter and compromise the quality of water being delivered. The proposed project would involve installing protective devices to insure integrity of certain identified valve systems. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2007-0290-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Kirit Bavishi, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.
