Document Description
The project is located at the 301-acre Deer Creek Mitigation Preserve previously proposed as a mitigation bank, but it is now being proposed as an in-lieu fee mitigation site for the South Sacramento Habitat Conservation Plan (SSHCP). The project will involve the restoration of a creek system and associated habitat features. The restoration actions will result in the re-establishment of a stable channel, increase channel sinuosity, increase channel/flood plain interaction, and enhance water quality. The project will also re-establish a vernal pool complex with interconnecting swales in an area that previously supported a vernal pool landscape and re-establish appropriately sited vernal pools in areas with few existing features. In total, the project would re-establish 9 acres of vernal pools, restore 1.56 acres of seasonal wetland swales, and re-establish 1.44 acres of ephemeral stream within the project area
