Document Description
The project proposes to stockpile riprap for emergency flood fighting operations at the three sites. The project would create a readily accessible state-owned inventory of riprap-size rock to be used in a large-scale disaster in which resources such as quarry production and truck hauling would be strained by excessive demands. The project also proposes to establish new transfer facilities at the Port of Stockton to load large rock from stockpiles and inland quarries onto barges for water-based emergency operations in the Delta. The proposed project would enhance readiness and improve operational flexibility to transport rock into the Delta during a flood emergency.
