Document Description
The Project described in this Agreement is limited the breaching of the levee at the site known as Breach 2, which lies along Tolay Creek. The levee breaching is being undertaken in order to facilitate the larger Sears point Wetland and Watershed Restoration Project. Additional breaches are proposed, and up to four breaches will occur on the existing outboard levee to restore the area to full tidal marsh. Additional breaches beyond Breach 2 are not included as part of this Agreement because they either are not subject to Fish and Wildlife Code Section 1602 or are not proposed at this time. Breach 2 would be excavated during the initial restoration phase. Excavated materials from Breach 2 will be used to fill the adjacent drainage ditch or placed on the inboard side of the perimeter levee to create additional habitat. Breach 2 will be located near the southwestern corner of the Dickson Ranch complex and connect to Tolay Creek. Breach 2 will: require approximately 14,000 cubic yards (CY) of excavation; be approximately 285-foot-wide at the mean higher water (MHHW) elevation; have a 2 horizontal (H): 1 vertical (V) side slope; and a bottom elevation of -5 feet NAVD. The dimensions of Breach 2 would be identical to Breach 1.
