Document Description
The project consists of restoration of wetlands, continuation of agriculture, protection of open space, and development of public access and educational opportunities at the Sears Point property currently owned by the Sonoma Land Trust. DFG will take ownership of the restored tidal area south of the railroad tracks. The remaining areas of the project will be under federal (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) and Sonoma Land Trust ownership and management. The project includes construction of a new flood control levee to protect existing infrastructure, constructing perimeter levee. The project would restore approximately 955 acres of diked baylands to tidal action. The project also includes public access within the restored tidal and upland areas, and long-term maintenance and management of storm water pumps and other facilities.
