Document Description
The Kern County Public Works department proposes to construct approximately 34,500 lf of sewer trunk line with associated manholes for access within existing road rights of way and water line easements. Five sewer lift stations including three operating in series are proposed; one at Southwest Shafter; one near Thomas Lane; and one at Smith Corner are also proposed; one at Smith Corner and one at Burbank St. The project is proposed for funding by the US Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service Financing Program and other sources. US Department of Housing and Community Development Block Grants Funds may also be provided for the project. The formation of an assessment district and County Service Area Zone of Benefit will also be required.
