Document Description
In a response to a projected deficiency in the number of male inmate beds in the statewide prison system, the California Legislature passed AB 900, the Public Safety and Offender Rehabilitation Services Act of 2007. As the lead agency, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is proposing to provide housing for additional inmates at KVSP. Implementation of the proposed project would result in the construction of an approximately 33-acre stand-alone Level II facility. The facility would consist of five 100-bed dormitory housing units; program support service buildings, healthcare facilities; visiting, academic and vocational education buildings; and miscellaneous support buildings.
