Document Description
The City of Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power proposes to undertake an experimental tule and cattail cutting and removal effort in the Lower Owens River using a floating barge equipped with a cutting apparatus. This effort will be undertaken to determine if the machine is effect in managing emergent aquatic vegetation in the river.

Provides for basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in major disturbances to an environmental resource. LADWP will use the cattail cutter in the Lower Owens River as "experimental management" under this statute to determine if it is an effective means of managing emergent aquatic vegetation.
