Document Description
The proposed project would seismically upgrade the Stockton National Guard Armory, from Risk Level V to Risk Levell III. The proposed retrofit includes anchorage of the roof to the walls in the low roof area, addition of collector elements at the wall corners in the low roof area, and addition of collector-strut elements in the high roof area. These modifications woud take place entirely within the existing structure and will place the building in category III of seismic resistance, greatly improving survivability of the facility and the occupants in a severe earthquake event.

Reasons for Exemption
Project involves structural modifications to the interior of the building with some minor electrical and mechanical alterations. The additional structural connections between the roof and tilt-up walls will reduce the shock effect from an earthquake event and prevent the total collapse of the building. The project does not expand the current use or size of the facility.
