Document Description
Upgrade an existing wireless infrastructure project to improve the capabilities of researchers' ability to send data from remote sensors to the campus using radios. Improvements will include 4 new permanent towers and 6 portable towers. Pre-fabricated permanent aluminum towers will be 40, 30 (2 tower) and 20 ft. tall with a base require a 4 x 4 x 4 ft. excavation which will be back-filled with concrete.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed sites for the permanent towers already are disturbed. Sites for the portable towers will have minimal soil surface disturbance from installation. none of the potential sites support any special status biological resources. The structures will be visible only from nearby users of the reserve and are not in the viewshed of residences or any public road.
