The project consists of renovating the existing pool on campus. The finish coat of plaster and tile on the pool wall and deck contain asbestos and lead respectively and must be removed by a CAL OSHA certified abatement contractor. This is not a hazardous waste site and all clean up will be done pursuant to all applicable safety procedures for clean up, handling and disposal.
It is exempt because the restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment to meet current standards of public health and safety is exempt under this section.
