Document Description
The project will recontour a 215-foot section of "Justi Creek," an unnamed tributary to Calabazas Creek, thence Sonoma Creek, to create a more stable geometry and reduce shear stresses. Work below ordinary high water will include installation of two boulder cross vanes with pools and two roughened riffles. A rootwad and log structure will be placed on the left bank of the upstream pool to provide improved habitat for aquatic life. An existing stone wall on the outside bend will be removed and replaced with a 65-foot long brush mattress to provide vegetated bank protection. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2007-0235-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
