Any burning of Arundo will take place at least 100 feet away from any elderberry shrub. Removal of Arundo would take place between August 1 and October 1 when foliar herbicide applications are most effective. A pest control recommendation for the herbicide(s) to be used will be issued by a Licensed Pest Control Adviser. Multiple applications of herbicide may be necessary over a five year period to eradicate Arundo.
