SCE proposes to construct and maintain a series of ~173 miles of new and upgraded high-voltage electric transmission lines (T/Ls) and substations to deliver electricity generated in eastern Kern County to utility load centers. The TRTP involves: New single- and double-cicuit 500-KV T/Ls; New single-circuit 220-kV T/Ls; Re-building 220 kV T/Ls to 500-kV standards; Re-building single-circuit T/Ls to double-circuit T/Ls; Relocating existing 66-kV subtransmission lines; New 500-kV substation; Upgrading/expanding 5 existing substations.
