Document Description
The CPUC and the Forest Service are preparing a focused SEIR/EIS. SCE is consulting with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding the new TRTP transmission structures. SCE has estimated that 276 transmission line spans would require the installation of marker balls and 90 transmission structures require aviation lights. These modifications would occur within Segments 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11. (Note: The SPUC has stayed construction of the overhead transmission line within the City of Chino Hills in Segment 8A; Segment 8A under-grounding options are not the subject of this NOP). In addition, SCE proposed engineering refinements to reduce structure heights in Segment 8 between Chino and Mira Loma Substations due to FFA concerns regarding potential interference with the instrument approach procedure for Chino Airport.
