Document Description
The California Department of Mental Health (DMH) proposes the construction of a new main kitchen and renovation of existing satellite kitchens and dining rooms to accommodate the new cook/chill method of food preparation at Patton State Hospital. The new 31,908 square foot single-story main kitchen replacement facility would be located on the vacant property owned by the State to the north of the existing main kitchen across Date Street. The access to the new main kitchen would continue to be from Victoria Avenue to Date Street. The seven satellite serving kitchens (totaling approximately 25,952 square feet) are located in the existing 30, 70, EB, U and N buildings. Project construction would begin in Spring 2009 and take approximately 18 months. After the proposed project is completed, the existing main kitchen would be used for general storage.
