The California Department of Transportation District 10 Maintenance team proposes to undertake a state-only funded Maintenance project to use gunite to reinforce (but not fill) a large void that has developed in an already disturbed part of the embankment of the Merced River below State Route 140. This project is intended to prevent further erosion of the void and halt the localized pavement cracking and deterioration on State Route 140. The project would ensure the safety of the traveling public on Route 140 in the vicinity of Yosemite National Park.
