Document Description
The work at this site is needed to repair and restore the levee that was damaged during the Governor's declared flood disaster in Yolo County. The geotechnical study of the area indicated that the foundation materials were poor and improvements to the foundation were needed to prevent seepage and sand boils landward of the levee. The proposed repair consists of construction of 80 feet wide by 200 feet long underseepage berm and filling in of an existing ditch located 20 feet landward of the levee toe. This repair will prevent the possible destabilization of the levee slope and resulting levee failure.
