Document Description
La Puenta Valley County Water District owns three existing groundwater wells and a water treatment facility (Plant) which was located at 1695 N. Puenta Avenue in Baldwin Park. The District Wells No. 2, 3 and 4 have a pumping capacity of about 2,500 gpm and 2,000 gpm, respectively. During June 2007, perchlorate was decided in all three of the District's wells in excess of the California Department of Health Services (DHS) provisional action level of 18 ppb. In addition to perchlorate, all three wells have experienced contamination from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), N-Nitrosodimethlyamine (NDMA) and 1, 4 Dioxane.
