Document Description
The Mesquite Regional Landfill was originally permitted under CUP #1036-91 for receipt of municipal solid waste (MSW) by rail of up to 20,000 tons per day in five trains per day along with 1,000 tons of MSW per day from Imperial County. The current CUP #06-0003 is amending the previous CUP to allow trucking of up to 4,000 tons per day of MSW and treated ash to the landfill site. The County Planning Commission recommended approval of February 9, 2011, and the Board of Supervisors approved the environmental document and the CUP #06-0003 on April 5, 2011. The site is located on a portion of 4,250 acres that includes the Mesquite Gold Mine, Assessor's Parcel Number 039-340-027-000, et. seq. and is within Township 1e South, Range 19 East, SBB&M.
