Document Description
NOTE: Revised A Notice of Preparation of a DEIR was circulated in July 2007 indicating that the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) and the City would prepare the DEIR. Since that time, there has been a change in lead agency status of these agencies for this project. The City of San Jacinto will serve as the lead agency under CEQA and will prepare the DEIR. The proposed project consists of the construction of a new southern levee, approximately five miles in length, a floodwall, a desiltation basin, enhancements to the existing northern levee, excavation under the State Street Bridge, removal of portions of the existing southern levee, and protection of the MWD underground aqueduct pipelines. The proposed project also includes operation and maintenance of the new flood control structures and both the modification and continuation of current maintenance practices within designated segments of the expanded riverine corridor.
