The project also includes construction, operation, and maintenance of a desiltation basin approximately 150 acres, located at the downstream end of the project. The project will include reinforcement of segments of the northern levee with additional armoring and treatment under State Street Bridge to utilize the full hydraulic capacity of the bridge. The project will increase channel capacity within project area up to a 100-year event, alleviating flooding and disruption of traffic circulation of Ramona Expressway, State Street, and Sanderson Avenue, and flood water contact with diary and other wastes.
