The project entails annual installation and removal of a temporary, 80-foot-long flatcar summer bridge across the Russian River. This activity has occurred at the same location for many years. The activity is subject to seasonal restrictions intended to avoid impacts to salmonids. The crossing location does not affect salmonid spawning habitat and is situated at a long, deep run. Early installation and late removal is subject to written concurrence from the Department based on flow conditions.
