Document Description
The project proposes to reconstruct and widen Lower Sacramento Road over Bear Creek. The roadway will be ~5 ft higher than the existing Bear Creek Bridge. The new bridge over Bear Creek will be a 3-span concrete bridge structure. The pier foundations will consist of 24" CIDH piles. The roadway will have wide sidewalks that will also accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists. The new brisge piers at the Bear Creek Bridge will be located on both the north and south edge of the low-flow channel, requireing temporary dewatering during installation. The work area in Bear Creek will be dewatered prior to the start of work. Dewatering will consist of installation of a flow diversion to isolate the work area from the live channel. The flow diversion will consist of using K-rail with visquine, sandbags, or an equivalent method to isolate flows from the work area. Flows will be temporarily diverted to the center of the creek form both sides during pier foundation installation and also during removal of old piers.
