The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to widen the shoulders on both sides of State Route (SR) 158 to approximately 8 feet, from the junction of SR-158 and U.S. Highway 395 to North Shore Drive. The project would also replace three existing corrugated steel pipes and add flared-end sections at post mile 0.4, 0.5, and 0.7. Between post mile 0.8 and 0.9, the existing slope would be cut back forming a 2:1 slope.
