Document Description
The City is now pusuing American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding through the State Water REsources Control Board Clean Water State Revolving Fund Program to temporarily install some of the equipment approved for the new treatment facility at the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), until the new treatment facility is constructed. The new treatment facility is expected to be constructed by 2011. The improvements to be constructed and operated at the existing WWTP would include the following: Installation and operation of a skid-mounted mechanical biosolids dewatering device and covered biosolids storage building; and Installation and operation of a skid-mounted sodium dioxide generator with a 500 gallon brine tank and 2,500 gallon sodium hypochlorite storage tank to replace the existing gaseous chlorine disinfection system. The equipment would be installed in such as manner as to avoid the adjacent tree. Each piece of equipment would be installed with a containment system sized to hold all the material stored therein, in case of a leak.
An Addendum to the EIR was prepared to analyze changes to the adopted project that are required to temporarily install and operate this equipment. This June 2009 Addendum concludes that the changes tot he adopted project being proposed do not cause substantial changes in impacts analyzed for the proposed project in the 2008 Certified EIR and do no result in new significant impacts.
