Document Description
This project will take place in Border Field State Park and consist of the weeding and planting of native plants (approximately 800) in the east and north picnic area of Monument Mesa, also the region west and south of the entrance parking lot will be weeded and cleared of exotic thatch. This will be a volunteer activity supervised by Reserve staff. The workers will use hand tools and debris and garbage will be disposed of in on-site dumpsters.

No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated. A resource ecologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to natural resources. An archaeologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to cultural resources. Project does not result in the taking of endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species or significant erosion and sedimentation of surface waters (class 4i).
