As part of the implementation of the 2002-2007 Housing Element, the City of Scotts Valley will be rezoning 11 acres to very high density residential (20 units per acre), developing very high density zoning regulations and allowing mixed use projects as a right in the C-S Service Commercial Zoning District. The City is adding transitional housing as a conditional use in the C-S Service Commercial Zoning District and the Industrial Zoning District. The goal is for the City to have adequate sites for the construction of 804 residential units between 2002-2007. The City is proposing new regulations for large family day care home and various other zoning ordinance amendments. The Professional Commercial Zoning district will be eliminated and those properties rezoned to C-S Service Commercial.
