Document Description
The purpose of the WISP is to increase reliability of the SFPUC regional water system with respect to water quality, seismic response, water delivery, and water supply to mee the needs of the service area through 2030. Improvments constructed under the SJRWQIP will occur at two sites- Tesla Portal and Thomas Shaft sites. Tesla Portal site includes the installation of ~420 linear ft of new pipeline known as ADP. ADP will transpot water from the existing San Joaquin Pipelines to the proposed UV building that will be constructed at the site for water treatment purposes. Installation of the ADP will occur within an ephermal drainage for ~140 linear ft. The new pipe will be installed using cut and cover techniques. A 12 ft x 20 ft deep trench will be constructed for 140 linear ft within the ephermal drainage. Excavated materials will be sidecast adjacent to the trench. once the new pipe has been installed, the excavated material will be used to back fill the trench. The ephermal drainage will be recontoured and returned to pre-project conditions including topography and hydrology.
