Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), proposes to stabilize a portion of US Highway 101 (US 101), known as Last Chance Grade, located approx. 11 miles north of Klamath in Del Norte County. This 0.8 mile section of roadway is located between Post Mile (PM) 14.8 and PM 15.6 on bluffs above the Pacific Ocean. The project is located in the Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, which is within the Redwoods National and State Parks boundaries. The proposed project would improve roadway reliability and reduce the risk of road closure due to landslides.
