The project is a revision of a Surface Mining Permit to add an additional 256 acres to be mined over a period of 58 years from original inception (1997) and will be processed in 4 phases through 2056. The additional 296 acres will provide a projected additional volume of 105.5 million tons. The current rate of production is 2.4 million tons per year. The proposed revision will not increase the maximum permitted annual production, nor require additional processing equipment.
