Document Description
The proposed project is the replacement of Garnet Street Bridge that traverses the Mill Creek Wash in the community of Mentone located between the Cities of Redlands (to the south) and Highland (to the north). The bridge is located approximately ½ mile north of the State Highway 38. The existing bridge is 159 feet long over two spans with a width of 17 feet 10 inches from rail-to-rail. The existing bridge does not have bike lanes or sidewalks. The proposed bridge will be 200 feet long and 52 feet wide and will be constructed of an asphalt roadway on a concrete box girder. The proposed slab bridge will consists of one concrete pier on piles within Mill Creek and two concrete diaphragm abutments on piles in the north and south banks of Mill Creek. The bridge design includes two-way 12-foot vehicle lanes, 8-foot dedicated bike lanes, and a 5-foot sidewalks.
