Reasons for Exemption
After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental coordinator for the County of Tuolumne has determined that the project is categorically exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15317 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project consists of entering into a land conservation contract under the terms of the Williamson Act. The Zone Change portion of the project is required pursuant to Tuolumne County Resolution 106-04, in order to enter into a land conservation contract and implement the contract through zoning. Therefore, the zone change is also exempt from environmental review pursuant to section 15317 of the State CEQA Guidelines.
