Document Description
The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (District) has received an Authority to Construct (ATC) application from Foster Farms Dairy #4. The applicant proposes to expand the existing dairy which currently houses a maximum herd of 745 milk cows and 120 dry cows. The applicant proposes to expand the herd to a maximum of 3,061 milk cows and 459 dry cows. The expansion of the dairy also includes the construction of a new milk barn with a 72-stall rotary milking parlor, four (4) 660-head freestall barns, and one (1) 100-head maternity barn; an upgrade to the liquid manure treatment system; and the conversion of an existing storage pond into an anaerobic treatment lagoon.
