Document Description
The applicant is requesting an amendment to an existing Use Permit and Reclamation Plan to expand the existing open-pit, gravel skimming quarry from 55.5 acres to a total of 133 acres. An additional 2,100,000 cubic yards of dredger tailing piles are planned to be harvested seasonally over a 30-year mine life with annual production estimated at 30,000-200,000 cubic yards. Quarry activities would be divided into 5 phases with each phase being completed prior to the start of the next phase. Rock screening, crushing, stockpiling, and material export are planned to be located within the existing material processing area. Reclamation would include the creation of ponds and wetlands, re-vegetation, and the construction of river levees in preparation of the site as open space.
