Document Description
The proposed project is the annexation of 4,997 acres into the City of Temecula which will include a Sphere of Influence expansion for the city; and amendment to the General Plan Land Use Map designating he land uses within n the S.O.I. expansion area; and the pre zoning of the annexation area with zoning designations consistent with the land use designations. The proposed Santa Margarita Area Annexation includes the following land use applications: Planning Application PA-07-0225 -Planning Application PA07-0225 consists of two components, an amendment to the City of Temecula General Plan (GPA) and the Pre-zoning of the annexation area (Change of Zone) described as follows: GPA proposing to update the General Plan's Land Use Map with land use designations over the 4,443 acres of the Santa Margarita Annexation Area located outside of the City's current S.O.I. The 477 acres currently designated "Rural Mountainous" (I DU/10 AC) in Riverside Co. will become "Hillside Residential" (I DU/10 AC) in the City of Temecula, and 3,961 acres of the 3,966 acres designated "Open Space-Conservation Habitat" in the County would be designated "Open Space" in the City and 5 acres currently designated "Open Space Conservation-Habitat" in the County will become "Hillside Residential" (I DU/10AC) in the City of Temecula. Planning Application PA07-0226 -S.O.I. Expansion proposing the expansion of the City of Temecula's S.O.I. to include that 4,443 acre portion of the 4,997 acre Santa Margarita Annexation Area outside of the City's current S.O.I., with ultimate approval by the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). -Annexation proposing the annexation of the Santa Margarita Annexation Area consisting of ~4,995 acres into the City of Temecula, with ultimate approval by the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).
