Document Description
The proposed project includes a one-story, 45,000 s.f. senior center on a 5-acre undeveloped portion of the 343-acre Central Park, located southwest of the intersection of Goldenwest St/Talbert Ave between the disc golf course and the Shipley Nature Center. Access would be provided from Goldenwest St/Talbert Ave. The senior center will include rooms for multi-purpose activities, group exercise, fitness, arts/craft, classrooms, & dance, as well as a kitchen, lobby, administrative area, outdoor patio and outdoor recreation area. Approximately 227 parking spaces will be provided. The proposed project includes a General Plan Amendment to incorporate the Central Park Master Plan into the Recreation and Community Services Element and update it to accommodate the proposed senior center by re-designating the 5-acre site from low intensity to high intensity.
