Document Description
The proposed project consists of the installation of new pedestrian signal heads, audible pedestrian signal equipment and the removal/replacement of existing pedestrian ramps. In addition, the project includes pavement reconstruction and removal of the existing pedestrian refuge island for the eastbound approach on Hurley Way. The eastbound Hurley Way approach will also have a reconfiguration of vehicular striping and will be slurry sealed. The plaza area, including ramps, curb, gutter and sidewalk, on the southwest corner of the intersection will be reconstructed to better facilitate the movement of pedestrians across the intersection.

The project consists of the minor alteration of existing sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, adjacent roadways and signal equipment with negligible expansion of use beyond that of the existing structures. The project is located within the public right-of-way at an existing urban intersection and there are no environmentally sensitive areas adjacent to the site. Consistent with section 15301(c) the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
