Document Description
The proposed modifications would be associated with the Effie Yeaw Nature Center (EYNC) and surrounding area. The EYNC facility consists of two buildings for indoor programs and classes, exhibits, and offices. Directly behind the facility, a number of nature trails wind through the 77-acre Nature Study Area. The area surrounding the buildings is landscaped with plants native to the Parkway. Access to EYNC is available from Tarshes Drive. Egress from and emergency access/non-vehicular access to EYNC is also available via San Lorenzo Way.

The American River Parkway (Parkway) is an open space area surrounding the American River. The Parkway extends approximately 29 miles from Folsom Dam in the northeast portion of Sacramento County to the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers in the northwest area of downtown Sacramento. The width of the Parkway varies down its length - at places the Parkway is as narrow as 700 feet and at other locations as wide as 6,800 feet (1.3 miles) . The Parkway is made up of Area Plans, including the Ancil Hoffman County Park Area Plan (Ancil Hoffman Area Plan) of the American River Parkway Plan where the project is located.
