The HLWA Land Management Plan will provide the framework necessary for implementing maagement goals (Sec IV of the Plan). These goals were summarized following recognition of the HLWA as an important operational base for the rearing of Lahontan cutthroat trout, deer herd management and associated habitats. Management will focus on maintaining viable populations of sensitive species and their habitats and include the restoration and enhancement of natural communitites within an ecosystem-based framework.
