Document Description
California Citrus Producers, Inc. (CCPI) and VitaPakt are contiguous food processing facilities located in Lindsay, California. CCPI manufactures orange juice concentrate, and Vita-Pakt processes citrus fruits into pasteurized and frozen peel/juice ingredients used in marmalades, and processes fresh kiwi fruit for kiwi purees and juice concentrates. Both industrial processes create liquid effluent consisting of water and fruit solids. This effluent is currently piped from the site by a 6" dedicated city sewer line that transports the wastewater to land application sites located about six miles west of the City of Lindsay. The seasonal average effluent discharge handled by the existing line and land application sites is approximately 0.30 million gallons per day (MGD).
