Document Description
The Athens Sun Valley Materials Recovery Facility (ASVMRF) would process a total of 1,500 tons of solid waste and recyclables per day. Of the total, 1,000 tons per day (tpd) would be municipal solid waste (MSW) and 500 tpd would be construction, demilition and Inert material (C&D). MSW and C&D would be processed in separate enclosed buildings. The facility currently processes ~400 tpd of C&D materials and operates under Conditional Use Permit (ZA 98-0427) issued in January 1999, which permits the establishment, use and maintenance of Recycling Materials Process and Sorting Facility (Recycling Center) for mixed waste, construction and demolition waste for purposes of deposting, sorting, processing and transferring a maximum of 1,500 tpd of solid waste, in the M2-1G Zone. The facility also operates in accordance with a Temporary Solid Waste Facility Permit.
