The Salinas Union High School is acquiring the project site only, with project design and construction of a middle school in the future when funding is available. The District anticipates that the middle school would be construction of a middle school would be constructed when the surrounding area is developed in accordance with a specific plan that is current being prepared by private entity in coordination with the City of Salinas. The District does not plan to construct the school prior to adjacent development occurring due to the cost of providing infrastructure to the site.
