Document Description
The Jackson Demonstration State Forest is a 50,000 acre forest in western Mendocino County, JDSF conducts research and demonstration projects as part of its mission, and the state forest is committed to monitoring the effects of various forest management practices. This project has two goals: 1. To train tree fallers about safety protocol; and 2. To use the trainees to fall diseased trees that pose a fire hazard and/or are non-natives that compete with healthy commercial forest species.
