Document Description
SWRCB will be issuing a water supply permit. The IRWD project included installation of RMSs at two IRWD's existing domestic water system reservoirs, Foothill Zone 6 and Portola Zone 8 to address degraded water quality in these exiting potable water reservoirs. The degraded water quality is from nitrification due to loss of chlorine residual, excess free ammonia, and low water supply turnover within the existing reservoirs. The RMSs provide booster chloramination will maintain adequate total chlorine residual, and improve water circulation in the reservoirs and help prevent nitrification episodes in IRWD's distribution system, which are already constructed and presently ready to operate.
