Document Description
The proposed project consists of additional dust control measures (DCMs) to be constructed on the dry Owens lake bed at the southern end of Owens Valley in Inyo County, eastern-central California. The proposed project is located approximately 5 miles south of the community of Lone Pine and approximately 61 miles south of the City of Bishop. The primary goal of the proposed project is to continue to reduce dust emissions from the dry Owens Lake bed by implementing all Owens Lake bed fine particulate matter (PM10) control measures by April 1, 2010 pursuant to the revised 2008 State Implementation Plan (SIP) to achieve the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for PM10. The Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District has identified eight objectives to achieve the goal of the proposed project.
